Chamber Alliance Becomes A Part of Genesis (Group) Organization
The Genesis Group is pleased to announce that effective January 1, 2021, the Chamber Alliance of the Mohawk Valley will become a part of the Genesis Group organization. A new committee will be formed and will focus on the needs and expansion of smalland large businesses and not for profit organizations in the Mohawk Valley region.
The Chamber Alliance Committee will include the current members of the Alliance: Chambers of Commerce from Boonville, Camden, Clinton, Fulton Montgomery, Greater Oneida, Herkimer County, Kuyahoora Valley, Marcy, New Hartford, Otsego County, Rome Area and Trenton Area.
Affiliate Partners include: Center for Leadership Excellence, Hamilton Business Alliance, Mohawk Valley Association of Realtors, Mohawk Valley Business Women's Network, Mohawk Valley EDGE, Oneida County Tourism, Otsego County Tourism, Waterville Economic Development Corporation, Workforce Development Board, Mohawk Valley Small Business Development Center and The Genesis Group.
The purpose of the Chamber Alliance is to address regional concerns of the Mohawk Valley business community. This united association among chambers and affiliate partners provides a structure to address business-related issues, such as tourism, economic development, business/community promotion, and workforce development. The Alliance endeavors to represent and promote the collective interestsof the business community of the Mohawk Valley—that geographic area which includes, but is not limited to, Herkimer County, Oneida County, Madison County, Otsego County, Fulton, and Montgomery Counties.
Raymond J. Durso, Jr. President/CEO of The Genesis Group said: “The addition of the Chamber Alliance will strengthen The Genesis Group’s collaboration with the region’s chambers of commerce and affiliate partners.”
William K. Guglielmo, President of the Rome Area Chamber of Commerce and one of the members of the regional group that established the Alliance in 1997, said: “The Alliance has grown from its original seven chambers to the 23 chambers and affiliate partners that we have today. Having the Chamber Alliance under the umbrella of the Genesis Group will provide the Alliance with more stability and a stronger foundation.”
Both organizations agreed that the collaboration will benefit the region's business community, especially going into a new year filled with both challenges and opportunities. Durso will serve as Chair of the Committee and Guglielmo will serve as Co-Chair.
Durso added, "I look forward to continuing our work together!”
